Art and Design

Our creative art courses are validated by the University of Arts London (UAL) and are your stepping stone into a myriad of creative art and design courses at a higher level of study or employment within Creative Industries.

On application, you should demonstrate your enthusiasm for the subject area through a current portfolio of work, clearly illustrating your drawing skills and creativity.

        Getting hands-on experience...

You will also take trips and visits to various galleries and museums, as well as carrying out research on the possibilities of working in the art and design industry. You have the opportunity to take part in competitions with outside agencies, which in previous years have included Touchstones Art Gallery, Bolton University and a range of local businesses.

Studying at Hopwood Hall was the most important developmental period of my life. Working on the radio and being in the band Inspiral Carpets needs a degree of self-confidence which, for me, is completely attributable to my experiences at the College. I’m incredibly lucky that I do the things that I love and get paid for them!
