Our courses

There are a number of programmes depending on your existing knowledge and experience, which range from level 1 through to level 3. If you are looking to engage in a career in the electrical industry, these programmes will enable you to develop the necessary hands-on skills, knowledge and experience to do this.

Progression into higher-level technical pathways through apprenticeships or Higher Education routes will enable you to further develop career prospects within what is a rapidly evolving and exciting sector.

You will gain an invaluable insight into the electrical and building services industries,
which will be further underpinned by a work experience placement with an approved
business, ensuring you develop employability skills essential to your career development. The specialist workshops and training areas are all designed and equipped to industry standards and you will be supported by a team of highly experienced and passionate tutors.

  • Health and safety in building services
  • Scientific principles
  • Cooker circuits
  • Shower circuits
  • 18th edition consumer unit installations
  • Single and three-phase motors and associated starters
  • Generators including micro-generation theory
  • Data circuit points
  • SWA Sub-mains
  • Containment systems; trunking, conduit and tray
  • Various wiring systems and types and associated applications

You will be taught in our state of the art 4,500-square metre Technology Centre at our Middleton Campus. Under the guidance of our experienced tutors, you will have access to our industry standard equipment located in our bespoke workshops.
